The Huldah Anointing – 8/10/10

When Josiah tore his clothes, it was symbolic of repentance and seeking the Lord for direction. In Trinidad and Tobago, we have turned away from the Lord. We have ungodly rulers, people who worship graven images and consult medium and spiritists.

Huldah, the Prophetess, sought to seek God’s will. Huldah – Hebrew (Cheled) means to glide swiftly. Huldah’s name reflects her quickness of mind and her ability to swiftly and rightly discern the things of God. She was used by God in this fleeting moment in history to voice His judgment and His prophecy and to spark one of the greatest national revivals in history. She grasped the opportunity to receive the Holy Spirit’s fullness and step through the open door God provided.

Hilkiah, the high priest, Shaphan the scribe, sought out Huldah to hear God’s Word of wisdom. Clearly, she had the complete respect and confidence of these men. ‘Spiritual influence flows from a spiritual lifestyle, not merely from a presence of spiritual gifts.’

Acts 2:17,18 promises the Holy Spirit anointing on women.

Huldah demonstrated:

  • One to be trusted
  • Righteous living
  • Respectful
  • Obeyed God without fear

In order for us as women to develop that Huldah anointing, we’ve got to deal with all issues, conquering all distractions. Otherwise, it will rear its ugly head at embarrassing moments. Ps 103:10-12, He has not dealt with us according to our sins.

Other examples: Ruth:-

  1. Productive (diligent). While she worked in the field Boaz noticed her.
  2. Concerned about doing good. Her assignment was to serve her mother-in-law
  3. She followed instructions. One of the greatest signs of respect to show someone in authority over you, is to listen to them and do exactly as they requested.

Acts 9:36-42: Dorcas. Her name made a way for her. She was known as full of good works and charitable deeds. When she died they called for Peter. She was raised from the dead.
